The administration’s recommendations for FY18 would zero-out funding for AmeriCorps and Senior Corps
On March 16, the White House released a Fiscal Year 2018 budget blueprint, which outlines the administration’s funding priorities for the federal fiscal year that begins October 1, 2017.
The blueprint proposes deep cuts to federal programs overall, and recommends the elimination of the Corporation for National and Community Service, AmeriCorps and Senior Corps. If enacted, this proposal would have devastating effects on national service programs helping to drive community solutions to pressing challenges across the country.
Congress will now consider the White House’s proposal as they work to determine federal spending levels for the coming fiscal year.
