Take Action: Call Senators Blunt and Murray to Protect National Service Funding!
Leaders in the U.S. Senate are meeting on Tuesday, June 7, to make tough decisions about funding priorities that affect the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). Once again, CNCS funding could be at risk – potentially jeopardizing AmeriCorps and Senior Corps programs across the country.
Senator Blunt and Senator Murray co-chair the Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee, and they are key decision-makers when it comes to national service funding. Let’s make sure these congressional leaders know how essential national service programs are to our communities.

I am so grateful that Congress voted to increase funding for AmeriCorps and the other CNCS programs last year. I know Senator Blunt was responsible for that increase and I hope he will be there for us this year too.
But it’s a new year and I know that budget limits are tight. That’s why I’m calling to let Senator Blunt know that my community depends on the people power and resources of AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, the Volunteer Generation Fund and the Social Innovation Fund.
I urge him to support full funding for CNCS and national service programs in the Senate subcommittee markup he’s chairing on Tuesday.
