National Service Virtual Day of Action – Feb. 8, 2024

This is urgent. AmeriCorps and its programs are at risk of devastating cuts, and Congress needs to hear from all of us! 

For three decades, AmeriCorps members have been embedded in our local communities, responding to our most immediate needs: from disaster response to combatting the opioid crisis, and from providing services for veterans to helping students. Now on its 30th anniversary, some in Congress are proposing to cut funding back to 1997 levels, eliminating up to 61,000 AmeriCorps positions. We must use every tool possible to fight back against this significant reduction of resources and service positions that will have a devastating impact in local communities. 

On February 8, join Voices for National Service, States for Service, and Service Year Alliance in a virtual day of action to call on Congress to reject proposed cuts and recommit to robust funding for AmeriCorps. We need everyone’s voice to be heard in support of AmeriCorps, especially now, when difficult funding decisions are being made.
