ACT NOW: Urge Governor Newsom to Support CA Student Success Coaches

Dear City Year Champion,

Please submit your name below to support City Year in asking Governor Newsom to include us in the California State Budget May Revision.

A $15 million Budget allocation would support placing City Year student success coaches in schools across California to address the needs of students in systemically under-resourced schools. This investment is a modest – yet effective – step towards working with organizations that are partnering with school districts to close the achievement gap in California.

A state investment in student success coaches is an investment in our students today and in our state’s future. These state funds would make additional resources available to City Year and other data-driven AmeriCorps programs that are providing critical support to children who live in communities long impacted by systemic and structural inequities, most of whom are students of color.

There is no greater urgency than providing students with the adequate resources and supports needed so they can realize their full potential. Please join us and urge Governor Newsom to support our budget request by submitting your name and information through the form below.

Please note – all fields below are required by the Governor’s office for successful delivery of your message.

Thank you,

The City Year Team
