President Trump signed a fiscal year 2021 continuing resolution (CR), a short-term spending bill that averts a government shutdown and funds the Corporation for National and Community Service into December. While the House of Representatives passed a FY21 Labor-HHS Appropriations bill back in July that included $1.2 billion for CNCS, the Senate has not passed any of the twelve annual appropriations bills. The CR will keep the government funded at FY20 levels through December 11th.Lawmakers are expected to reconvene after the elections for a lame-duck session where they will resume funding negotiations.
