Syeria Alvarado is the Spring 2024 Public Policy and Communications Intern with City Year and Voices for National Service. She is from Harlem, NY and is a senior at the illustrious Howard University, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. On campus, she serves as the Mothers of the Mecca Vice President, giving young mothers a voice on campus and offering them support and resources. Her career aspirations are to become a litigator with legal interests in Criminal, Civil, and Family Law. During this internship, she aims to gain nonprofit experience in the policy field and learn how to thrive in a professional work environment.
