During consideration of the FY16 Congressional Budget Resolution, Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) introduced an amendment calling for the protection of the Corporation for National and Community Service within the federal budget. The amendment, cosponsored by Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), was passed by unanimous consent. Inclusion of this amendment in the budget resolution signals to appropriators that Congress intends to protect funding for national service programs in FY16.
